My Story & Philosophy
Bryony Miles - Handstand & Calisthenics Specialist
My fitness journey began in 2013 after losing my mum to cancer. It was a turning point: I realised I was low on energy, unhappy in my body, and needed to make a change.
By early 2014, the transformation was so noticeable that friends joked I should become a coach, so I did! I qualified as a Level 3 REPS Personal Trainer and began helping others discover their own strength and motivation.
I started with running, weightlifting, and plyometrics, but in 2017 I found calisthenics, and I was hooked. Hanging upside down on anything I could find quickly became second nature. I fell in love with the challenge of rings, learning skills like pull-ups, dips, and muscle-ups, while also exploring the artistic side of movement that blends circus with calisthenics.
Coaching has always been a two-way journey for me. I’ve worked with inspiring coaches from all backgrounds, each of whom shaped my knowledge and approach. That experience taught me the importance of guidance, and it’s something I bring to every client I work with.
Handstands became my main passion in 2020, when I committed to training consistently with a coach. Since then, balancing on my hands has gone from a challenge to a lifestyle, and one I now love to share with others.
Today, my goal is simple: to meet every client at their level and help them focus on what will truly move them forward. I make sure training is not only effective, but also safe, empowering, and fun.
Since 2022 I’ve been fully self-employed, teaching from my home studio in the heart of beautiful Bath, as well as online through my membership platform for handstand and flexibility classes. Since 2023, I’ve also been teaching group classes at the amazing CaliUnity Gym on Walcot Street, another opportunity to share my passion with an incredible community.
Whether you’re a complete beginner to handstands and calisthenics, looking to build confidence with the basics, or already more advanced and aiming to refine your skills, I’d love to work with you. With over 12 years of experience across many areas of training, my approach is all about meeting you exactly where you are. I take a holistic view, tailoring sessions so they’re effective, supportive, and focused on helping you reach your goals, while enjoying the process along the way.
